Falling Into Running Season

Falling Into Running Season

Fall running just hits different. The summer heat is finally backing off, the air is getting crisp, and suddenly that outdoor run sounds a whole lot more appealing. Not too hot, not too cold, and just enough crunch under your shoes to make things interesting.

So lace up, grab a light layer, and let’s get into a few ways to make the most of fall running season.

Go the Distance

Summer runs can be a battle. Between the heat, humidity, and blazing sun, sometimes cutting a run short is the smartest move you can make.

But fall? Fall understood the assignment.

Cooler temps, lower humidity, and a nice breeze make this the perfect time to add a little distance, chase a new goal, or finally check out that route you’ve been eyeing.

Wooded trail? Go for it. Paved path? Absolutely. Beachside run? Even better. Pick a route, soak up the scenery, and see where your legs take you.

Light It UPPPPP

We LOVE the crisp air and crunchy leaves. The sun setting approximately five minutes after lunch? Not so much.

Okay, maybe that’s a little dramatic. But those shorter days can sneak up on you fast. Whether you’re an early-bird runner or an after-work jogger, make sure you can see and be seen.

Reflective vests, bright gear, lights, pile it on. Want to make it more fun? Break out the glow sticks and glow jewelry too. Who said safety gear couldn’t have a little flair to it??

Whatever you wear, stay aware of your surroundings and keep those nighttime and early-morning miles safe.

Treat Yourself (Seriously)

One of the best parts of fall? The FOOD.

Apples. Pumpkin. Sweet potatoes. Oats. Cinnamon on basically everything. We’re here for all of it. The best part? A lot of those fall favorites can fit right into your pre- or post-run fuel.

Try a new recipe, whip up an oatmeal masterpiece, or keep things simple with your favorite seasonal snack all on its own. Fall gives you plenty of delicious ways to mix things up while keeping your body fueled for those miles. It’s a win-win situation.

And cinnamon? Besides making everything taste like fall officially arrived, it contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, keeping your heart and circulation top-notch.

So yes, we fully support the seasonal cinnamon obsession.

Most Importantly: Have Fun

Maybe fall is when you buckle down and start training. Maybe it’s when you explore new trails. Or maybe you’re just out there enjoying the fact that you can finally run without feeling like you’ve entered the surface of the sun.

Whatever your running season looks like, have some fun with it.

Take the scenic route. Try the pumpkin recipe. Grab an apple. Run through the crunchy leaves on purpose. Be a little cheesy. You’re allowed.

Have a tradition that makes your fall runs extra festive? Let us know—we want to hear it!
