Running Did This to You (You’re Welcome)
Share
Look, we know you don’t think of yourself as a “nature person.” You don’t own a hiking backpack. You’re not naming birds. You’re just, going for a run?
Well, we hate to break it to you… but you’re already in too deep.
You Notice Way More Than You Admit
You know which part of your route feels magical… You know where the shade hits just right…and you definitely know which stretch of sidewalk is trying to take you out.
You didn’t sign up to be an observant runner, just turned you into that person! The one who notices when a tree blooms earlier than last year or when the air smells like rain before it actually rains… Congrats. Nature got you!
The Weather Is Now a Personality Trait
You don’t casually check the weather anymore. You analyze it.
You know the difference between:
- “Cool and perfect”
- “Cool but disrespectful”
- “Humid but doable”
- “Why am I even outside?”
You’ve absolutely had a run where the weather made you feel unstoppable, and another where it humbled you immediately. Both count.
Outside Is Where Your Brain Finally Shuts Up
Running outside does something weird to your thoughts. Suddenly:
- You’re solving life problems
- Or replaying conversations from 2017
- Or thinking about snacks
- Or thinking about absolutely nothing (elite level)
It’s free therapy, but with sweat. And movement. And occasionally a bug flies into your face. Sooo worth it.
You’re Not Outdoorsy, You’re Just Outside a Lot
You didn’t become a runner to “connect with nature.” You became a runner for your own reasons, maybe fitness, sanity, fun, community?! But somewhere along the way, being outside became part of magic. The fresh air. The quiet moments. The feeling of moving through the world under your own power.
So yeah, you might not call yourself a nature person.
But at Runner’s High we know the truth…
You belong out there. And honestly? We love that for you!
