So… What Are the Race Options?

Whether you’re just getting into your running era or you’ve been doing this for years, the Greater St. Louis Marathon has something for you.

One of my favorite parts? Doing it as a family. My dad and I took on the 10K, my grandma crushed the 5K, and my aunt went all in with the half marathon (iconic). You can also sign up for the full marathon or keep it fun with the 1-mile Family Fun Run. No matter what distance you choose, every race brings its own kind of energy—it’s contagious!

What to Expect

For such a big race, everything felt surprisingly smooth and organized—no chaos, just good vibes. The Gateway Arch right at the start line? Unreal. Perfect photo op before the race, lol!

The course itself is wide and runner-friendly, so don’t worry about dodging crowds or fighting for space. And honestly? There’s something to look at around every corner, which makes the miles fly by.

One of the best parts: cheering on other runners at the finish. Instant motivation, instant goosebumps.

Tips for Race Day

A few things that made all the difference:

• Dress in layers. But don’t overdo it. It might start chilly, but you’ll warm up fast.
• Get outside for your training runs when you can (your legs will thank you.)
• Bring a running buddy (or a few). It makes everything more fun.
• Create a banger playlist…Music = motivation.
